This postmodern marvel by the master craftsmen at JDL Construction truly showcases the versatility of our French Connection – European Oak Toulouse flooring. Paired with the exposed ductwork, steel I-beams, and glossy surfaces, the natural textures and tones in the Toulouse bring warmth and beauty to the space creating a truly striking effect.
We love this home because it demonstrates the wide range of design styles that can be augmented and enhanced by our most popular line of flooring – French Connection. The wide planks and wire brushed texture give the wood a very rustic appeal that is juxtaposed beautifully with the simple industrial and structural elements. The eco-friendly WOCA oil finish gives it a beautiful sheen that complements the glass fixtures and furnishings. Finally, the Toulouse in particular exhibits many of the beautiful color variations found in European oak, playing into the pallet of vivid accent colors. (By contrast, this same floor can be found in the elegant, contemporary Bernardus Lodge & Spa in a 100% different design style.)
According to JDL, “[We] began by completely gutting the existing 1960s ranch-style home. The first floor was completely remodeled, and a second story was added, nearly doubling the size of the original 3,000 square foot structure. An open floor plan and touches of metal and concrete gave our clients’ new home the right amount of industrial styling they were looking for.”
“We chose this particular flooring since it looks very beautiful, and hand crafted, with a modern distressed look to it. We use Garrison flooring because they have a quality, unique, and custom look to all their flooring products. All my clients love the Garrison products, and their great customer service too.” – James Lepak, President of JDL Construction
